Matt Uno was a musician/journalist who wrote the Notes from the Underground weekly music column in Metro Santa Cruz from 1997 through 2000. He also performed in several Santa Cruz punk bands from 1994-2007.
Uno helped secure funding for the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Cruz music recording studio and brought in the Beastie Boys to help the cause.
After relocating to San Diego in 2007, he played lead guitar for the the San Diego based punk/alternative band, The Pictographs. The band performed in Southern California and recorded several songs with producer Ed Stasium (Ramones, Misfits, Talking Heads, etc.) for various movie soundtracks.
