Alan Korn was a DJ at KZSC in the early 1980s and part of an extended line-up of the Schematics that adopted Jamaican riddims (the Skamatics).

Alan moved to San Francisco and founded X-Tal with J-Neo Marvin. He was a contributor to Puncture Magazine and later co-founded The Cat Heads (produced by David Lowery) and the Ex-Cat Heads.

He now practices law in the Bay Area specializing in music related issues such as fair use, micro radio and industry contracts and is the male member in the otherwise female band She Mob. Alan also plays and records occasionally with Rico Bell of the Mekons.
